Our Story

Rashe’s Cuisine provides Jamaican inspired home style, comfort food. Rashe’s Cuisine has been sourcing and serving food to nourish the body and soul since 1993. Rashe (pronounced Ra-She) Malcolm has been part of the Athens community for many, many years. Her welcoming smile and warm embrace are as much a part of the meal as the fork (you won’t need a knife to cut the juicy, tender meats Rashe’s serves!)

Rashe

The story of Rashe’s Cuisine started many years ago when Rashe was a teenager. Young Rashe dreamed of creating foods inspired by her life and family background in Jamaica and the Deep South. She knew she wanted to recreate the foods that were special to her as a child and make them in a way that reflected the bounty of the area in which they were grown and would be eaten. Using fresh, seasonal foods and preparing them with care and just the right amount of seasonings to bring out the best flavors is something she learned from both of her Jamaican and African American cultures. Her love of food and family is reflected in every dish she creates.

Today, Rashe’s Cuisine is a family business, employing three generations and offering a bevy of services including catering and cooking lessons. Rashe even has her own blend of coffee! From a young girl’s dream to a staple of the Athens community, Rashe’s Cuisine reflects the love and care Rashe Malcolm has for each and every person she interacts with.
